Children's National Medical Center (CNMC),
the largest non-profit medical is currently seeking
a Director of Transport Service for our Washington,
DC facility.
Within this visible position, you will plan, implement, direct, and evaluate activities for our Transport Medicine Division in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. Responsibilities include direct supervision of staff members and oversight of day-to-day operations to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and cost efficient care. You will ensure efficient utilization of available resources to meet departmental goals and work collaboratively with other clinical and administrative personnel throughout the hospital to enhance communication, share pertinent data, and improve upon care delivery processes across the continuum. You must meet customer satisfaction goals and work to optimize all emergency transport services provided. Our ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or Finance with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in inter-hospital transport (ground and air). Supervisory experience required. Special knowledge requirements include RN/Paramedic licensure, primary in District of Columbia, with secondary licensure in Virginia and Maryland. Knowledge of operational aspects of ground and flight transport service required as well and must maintain ACLS/PALS and other critical care certifications. Preferred qualifications include Pediatric/Neonatal transport experience and managerial experience in a union environment. Desired areas of clinical experience include (1) Critical care transport services--Peds and/or NICU preferred, (2) Critical Care (pediatric), (3) Emergency Medicine, (4) Prehospital/EMS, (5) Neonatal Intensive Care. An RN is preferred, however licensed paramedics will be considered. Additional skills include excellent communication and human relations skills, with the ability to work within a shared leadership model. Advanced computer skills/familiarity with business software to include Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint); intermediate statistics and algebra; and general office equipment skills required.
