Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Educator is accountable for developing clinical educational programs, facilitating and evaluating clinical learning opportunities for all clinical staff. Working closely with the leadership team, the successful candidate will support collaborative, patient-centred, evidence-based care practices and facilitate the continuous learning and professional development of staff throughout the Program in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Using adult learning principles and techniques, the incumbent will support staff education and, with support, assess and develop learning resources. Qualifications Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario required A Baccalaureate Degree (BScN) required A Masters of Nursing or Education preferred A minimum of 4 years relevant inpatient and ambulatory oncology clinical experience Excellence in clinical practice Experience in clinical teaching Portrays professional image/excellent role model Strong analytical skills Knowledge of and experience with professional practice and program development tools Demonstrated ability to prepare learning materials and facilitate group educational sessions Strong leadership and interpersonal skills (with individuals as well as program teams/groups) Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated ability to effectively network with other disciplines Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis We foster a culture of patient and staff safety whereby all employees are guided by LHSC's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.
