Reporting to the Professional Practice Leader for Occupational Therapy, the Occupational Therapist is accountable for providing assessment, treatment, consultation and counselling to clients and their families in the hospital, through their transition to the community. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited University Program with a Baccalaureate Degree or a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Clinical experience in acute physical health including neurology, medical/surgical conditions, discharge planning, as well as the provision of therapeutic equipment Clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of adult acute mental health populations Experience or a strong interest in developing clinical interviewing and psychotherapy skills Skilled at crisis intervention and assessment Interest in providing treatment within a group modality Demonstrated competencies in interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, initiative, sound judgment, time management, and good work ethics Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of interdisciplinary teams Strongly developed spirit of inquiry and interest in the advancement of evidence based practice Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and/or the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists preferred Demonstrated ability to attend work as arranged In order to be considered for this position, please submit a detailed resume by clicking the Apply button.
