Assistant or Associate Professor
The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita (KUSM-W) is seeking a Physician who is board certified or eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join its faculty. The position is responsible for providing child and adolescent psychiatric consultations at the KUSM-W outpatient clinic. Clinic consultations may include group sessions, medicine checks, and therapy sessions. The Physician will provide inpatient child psychiatric services to patients without an assigned psychiatrist who are admitted to Via Christi Regional Medical Center. In addition to clinic consultations, the Physician will be responsible for the teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students as well as physician consultation and liaison services. The Physician may also develop specialty clinics with the approval of the Chair and Director of Outpatient Services. This position may be ranked either as Assistant or Associate Professor based on credentials. The focus of KUSM-W is to be a premier center for community-oriented medical education and scholarship. Its mission is to educate students, resident, and physicians through scholarship, patient care, service and research to improve the health of Kansans. KUSM-W has more than 100 full and part-time faculty and 900 volunteer faculty physicians who assist students as they complete their medical education. In addition, KUSM-W sponsors 13 residency programs and trains more than 250 resident physicians each year in two private hospital systems as well as a Veterans Affairs facility.
