Job Details: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

Description: Great opportunity at St. Joseph Hospital!
Has overall responsibility for the nursing care of patients assigned. Responsible for assessment, establishing goals and treatment plans, carrying out physician treatment and nursing care plans, ensuring patient safety, documentation of care and patient/family education. May delegate tasks to LPNs or Nursing Aides.

Qualifications

Licensure: Must have a current license in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse.

Experience: Two years experience preferred. Approximately three to six months on the job experience necessary in order to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of unit and departmental policy and procedures.

Education: Must have a high school diploma and a graduate of a diploma school, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.

Other:
Must have CPR and maintain biannually. ACLS preferred.
AWHONN preferred.

Must have good verbal communication skills in dealing with patients, physicians and family members; also good written communication skills.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
Satisfactorily completes the unit specific medication exam with a score of 90 or above.

Accepts responsibility of on call for C-section coverage. When on-call, will be within 30 minutes of the hospital.
