intensivist
physicians. The Department is currently seeking
intensivist physicians for its ICUs. The ICUs are staffed
with 9 physicians and 8 mid-level providers (nurse
practitioners and physician assistants). Successful
candidates will perform critical care duties, and some
teaching responsibilities.
The Department offers
highly competitive salaries, 5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks
CME, and a comprehensive benefits package, including
malpractice insurances.
The Methodist Hospital
is a tertiary referral center with a teaching affiliation
and research opportunities, and is an innovator in
the treatment of diseases. The Methodist Hospital is
a 1000 bed hospital, with the DeBakey Heart and Vascular
Center having 41 beds in its CVICU; performing over
3,000 cardiac surgeries annually, including coronary
heart bypass, insertion of pacemakers, repair and replacement
of defective heart valves, removal of tumors, heart
and lung transplants, ventricular assist devices (VAD),
ventricular complex heart transplants, other standard
procedures, and less invasive alternatives. There are
16 beds in its NICU
