capacity to expand to 400 beds over the next five years.

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a four story, full-service, acute-care hospital spanning 60 acres. An additional 40 acres housing a medical office building, research and lab facilities will complete the campus. With 42 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada, CHW is one of the largest healthcare systems in the West. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Provide leadership and oversight for coding and clerical areas within the Health Information Management Department. *Organize HIM work area and manage the workflow in an efficient and systematized manner. Manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment. *Assist with selection, training and orientation of clerical and coding staff. Assign staff responsibilities, evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions. *Establish good communication within the department and with other hospital departments. *Coordinate with CHW Corporate Compliance for coding audits. Follow-up to corporate audits and ensure changes are made appropriately and communicate with PFS in a timely manner. Communicate updates to coding staff and keep resources available and up-to-date. *Forecast work requirements and schedule staffing in Coding and Clerical areas in accordance with productivity standards. Maintain acceptable turnaround times and adequate coverage for uninterrupted work flow. *Possess the knowledge of all functions within the HIM department and ability to code all work types. *Work with the Clerical Lead and Transcription Supervisor to assist in assuring Health Information Management Department is in compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements. *Be flexible with schedule to be available to work with all shifts, and to provide relief in coding or clerical area as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 1. At least 5 years experience in Acute Care Setting with experience in all areas of HIM 2. Demonstrates leadership skills, professionalism, and growth and development of staff 3. Knowledge of coding and abstracting applications 4. Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements; HIPAA; DRG structure 5. Work independently in a fast-paced environment. Self Motivated LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION 1. RHIT / RHIA preferred.
