Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is a 202-bed state-of-the art children's hospital located in the city of Orange and has earned a strong reputation for leadership in pediatric health care across the Southern California region. THE CHOC FOUNDATION exists to generate community awareness and resources to CHOC and CHOC at Mission, supporting specific strategies that underscore the hospitals' local and national leadership in prevention, treatment and research programs. Our fundraising activities are guided by six philanthropic aspirations: to provide quality medical care for all children; to treat chronic and catastrophic illnesses; to emphasize illness and injury prevention; to support the well-being of children; to achieve medical breakthroughs; and to serve as a community leader and partner in the care of children. Our team features a high-energy of individuals of all ages and levels of fundraising experience. We feature many sub-departments within the Foundation including Annual Giving, Planned Giving, Special Events, Cause Marketing, Donor Services and Recognition and many more. PLANNED GIVING MANAGER for the CHOC Foundation serves as the chief technical expert in planned giving vehicles and applicable tax law for the Foundation. This individual maintains primary responsibility for providing leadership in marketing, coordinating, and closing planned gifts for CHOC and all of its components. The Planned Gifts Manager will work closely with the Foundation Vice President, Director of Major and Planned Gifts and Major Gifts Officers in building and maintaining the most important aspect of the development program. The Planned Gifts Officer will play an important role in the long term plan for CHOC. The successful candidate will have Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of progressive, successful fundraising experience in major and planned gift programs, JD, CPA, CLU or Certified Financial Advisor preferred. In addition, advanced certification by the Association of Fundraising professionals, or the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, working knowledge of tax law as it applies to planned gifts, and demonstrated collegial skills to serve as a trusted technical expert for planned gifts prospects assigned to other staff members. roanderson@choc.org Posting
