Description: Assistant or Associate Professor
The University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita (KUSM-W) is seeking a board certified Physician with a PhD in Epidemiology to join its faculty. The position is responsible for conducting research in epidemiology and/or infectious or chronic diseases, overseeing extramural funding for research and publication as well as teaching introductory and advanced epidemiology graduate classes in the Masters of Public Health and Masters in Clinical Research programs. The Physician may also participate in clinical practice if preferred.

This position may be ranked either as Assistant or Associate Professor based on credentials.

The focus of KUSM-W is to be a premier center for community-oriented medical education and scholarship. Its mission is to educate students, resident, and physicians through scholarship, patient care, service and research to improve the health of Kansans. The focus and mission of KUSM-W are guided by 5 Core Values including: Excellence in Education, Social Responsibility and Community Orientation, Excellence in Leadership, Responsible Stewardship, and Continuous Quality Improvement.

As a community-based medical school, KUSM-W relies on the cooperation and support of Wichita's private and public health care institutions and area physicians. KUSM-W has more than 100 full and part-time faculty and 900 volunteer faculty physicians who assist students as they complete their medical education. In addition, KUSM-W sponsors 13 residency programs and trains more than 250 resident physicians each year in two private hospital systems as well as a Veterans Affairs facility.

Located east of downtown Wichita, KUSM-W offers faculty, staff, students, residents, and community members an attractive campus where education, research, and patient care are a regular part of campus life.

Wichita is a diverse city with some of the greatest arts and entertainment in the Midwest. Additionally, the city has a flair for flavor with thousands of restaurants offering all types of cuisine.
