Job Skills/Requirements
The Pediatric
Emergency Department has about 24,000 visits per year.
The Nurse Manager (NM) position is recognized as a
management/leadership position within the hospital
organization and is central to fulfillment of the hospital's
mission. The NM operationalizes the core values of
the organization by developing and sustaining an environmental
that supports excellencies clinical practice and the
care of patients on the patient care unit. The NM facilitates
both clinical education and investigation to advance
the art and science of professional nursing practice.
The NM promotes the development of nurse professionals
and ensures consistency in the implementation of the
philosophy of nursing and standards of nursing practice.
The Nurse Manager's primary focus is customer service
as it relates to patients, visitors, family members,
staff and physicians. Lastly, the NM works collaboratively
with other disciplines to ensure an efficient, team
approach to the delivery of patient care.
Minimum
3 to 5 years clinical experience. BSN and licensed
to practice in New York State.
