Dallas, TX North Texas Healthcare System is seeking a full-time academic Associate Professor or Professor cardiologist to direct the Cardiology Section of Medical Service at the Dallas VA Medical Center. The candidate must be eligible for faculty appointment with our affiliated medical school, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The Chief of Cardiology will lead the patient care, teaching, and research missions of the Section. Cardiology Section provides a full range of clinical activities including advanced coronary interventions, a clinical and research electrophysiology service, transthoracic and transesophageal echo, and a busy CCU. Experience as a principal investigator in clinical or basic research and a record of effective mentoring of trainees are essential. The Chief is expected to teach medical students, house staff and cardiology fellows as well as participate in the performances of clinical services, teaching, and research activities with academic leadership at UTSW. VANTHCS is an integrated health care system serving veteran patients in 38 counties, including 2 in Oklahoma. In addition to a wide variety of acute care services, VANTHCS provides over one million outpatient visits a year combined at our Dallas, Bonham, Tyler and Fort Worth locations.
