Conducts retro authorizations based on medical records and and communication with physicians and other care providers. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Performs retrospective review of hospitalizations telephonically and/or on-site as appropriate. Maintains rapport with a variiety of health care professionals including hospital UR department staff, primary and attending physicians and various specialty providers as required. Utilizing your clinical skills in revieiwing clinical records to apply and interpret clinical criteria, guidelines, policies and procedures in the process of assessing clinical appeals to ensure appropriate administration of benefits. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision meeting firm deadlines.
