Organization Description:
1. Maintains clinical competence (typically spends 40% of time involved in patient care and 60% in administrative functions.)

2. Responsible for the unit/s in the absence of the Nurse Manager.

3. Makes decisions, after consulting with the appropriate individuals, for continued unit operations in the absence of the Nurse Manager.

4. Responsible for projects/processes that are essential to the success of the unit. (Charging processes, new hire orientation, maintain statistical data, time/attendance and QI).

5. Actively participates and manages operations during emergency situations, including participation in disaster preparedness.

6. Demonstrates successful conflict resolution in a timely manner with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members


DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education and Experience:Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing. Completion of MHS Customer Service and DDI training for front line supervisors within 6 months of promotion or hire. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of direct care experience as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in specialty.
Minimum License and Certificates Required: Current license to practice professional Nursing in the State of Texas.
