Department - Operative Services - Level 1- Pediatric Surgical Suite Salary Range $31.84 - $42.35 per hour as per the UNA Collective Agreement Hours Of Work 40 x 7.75 hour shifts in a 8 week cycle Duties/ Qualifications/ Other Information Position Available: Immediately Duties: As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Team Leader (TL) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in accordance with the UAH & Stollery Childrens Hospital`s policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility and acts as a resource for skills assessment, staff development, equipment maintenance and daily operative planning. The TL refers issues of a financial or human resource nature to the Unit Manager for their guidance and/or resolution. The TL provides feedback for annual performance appraisals by conducting formal and informal skills assessments to determine clinical competence. Recognizes the value of and works with a family centered care philosophy. Assist with program development and growth. Qualifications: CARNA registration and CPR required. BScN preferred. CPN(C) and or PNP preferred. Current Peds OR experience preferred. Expert knowledge of perioperative nursing care standards/protocols. Superior ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner required. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and leadership skills required. Proven ability to facilitate groups and manage change in a positive manner. Capable of working in a fast paced environment with patients of varying mobility required. Proven reliability/dependability required. Additional Information: Level I Surgical Suite is a dynamic 7-theatre Pediatric Operating Room that services all of the following specialties: Plastics, Minor Burns, Opthamology, Dental, Oral, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Thoracics, General Surgery, Transplant, and Neurosurgery. PLEASE INCLUDE A WRITTEN OUTLINE WITH YOUR RESUME OF CLINICAL EXPERTISE AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN YOUR CHOSEN SPECIALTY. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
