Job Summary: The Nurse Clinician, WOCN - Home Health, practices in an expanded role and provides nursing consultation services to the healthcare team providing care to patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence needs, in the home environment; performs advanced, comprehensive, age-specific (infant through later adult), nursing assessments, care planning, interventions, evaluations and oversight of nursing care for this specialty patient population; collaborates with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care, evaluate outcomes of interventions and adapt wound/ostomy, and continence management plan to reflect changes in patient status and needs; develops, reviews, and updates protocols, techniques, and educational materials in collaboration with Loma Linda University Medical Center WOC Medical Director and WOCN Team; serves as a role model and provides positive influence to facilitate change and implement best practices; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population; performs other duties as needed.

Job Specifications: Bachelor of Science degree in nursing required. (Bachelor’s in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports) WOCN specialty certificate or documented WOCN specialty training required. Active California Registered Nurse license required. California driver’s license required and transportation vehicle in good working condition with insurance coverage. WOCN Nursing Certificate required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Minimum three years of relevant recent nursing experience, minimum one year recent experience in home health required. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Able to: relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; demonstrates knowledge and competence in delivering patient care; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
