Description: Duke Medicine seeks an Academic Surgical Intensivist for Durham Regional Hospital
The Department of Surgery at Duke University seeks a critical care, fellowship trained, surgical intensivist to join its faculty practice at Durham Regional Hospital (DRH), a community based, Duke managed facility.

This opportunity allows the candidate to blend ICU and outside interests in a customized position. The selected candidate would join a multi-disciplined team of physicians who cover DRH's recently renovated, 22-bed ICU. The selected candidate would work six to ten 12 hour shifts a month in the unit, with a balance of day and night rotations. In addition, candidates can pursue research and/or establish a clinical/surgical practice, depending on their interest.

The selected candidate will be offered a faculty appointment at the School of Medicine, Duke University, Department of Surgery and a generous faculty benefit package, including tuition assistance for college-aged children.

• 369-bed acute care, full-service facility
• Newly renovated, state of the art, 22 bed ICU
• 2007 statistics: 15,988 inpatient admissions, 21,290 surgeries a year
