Audiologist- Temporary Full Time Department: Surgical Care Program - Outpatient Clinic Rate of Pay Range: $31.254/ hr to $39.068/hr Hours of Work:37.5 hours per week Duration of Contract:November 2008 - May 2009 LHSC has pioneered many national and international medical breakthroughs. Located in London, Ontario, LHSC encompasses three sites, South Street Hospital, University Hospital and Victoria Hospital; two family medical centres; and the London Regional Cancer Program. LHSC is the home of the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario and CSTAR (Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics). The research arm of LHSC is Lawson Health Research Institute, which is partnered with London's other teaching hospital, St. Joseph's Health Care, London. LHSC is affiliated with The University of Western Ontario. Physicians and staff at LHSC number more than 10,000 and together they provide care for more than 1 million patients each year. The successful incumbent is responsible for the provision of services for Clinical Audiology. The responsibilities include audiologic assessments for adults and children, hearing aid evaluations, electrophysiologic testing, involvement in research projects, all related paperwork and statistical record keeping. Qualifications Master's degree in Audiology Registration with College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), or eligible for Registration (Initial Registrants may apply) Two years recent experience in audiological assessment, electrophysiology, and hearing aids is preferred Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), GroupWise and Internet Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team Ability to establish relationships with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills in a variety of situations Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment Demonstrated thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis We foster a culture of patient and staff safety whereby all employees are guided by LHSC's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.
