Description: A growing laboratory management company and reference laboratory in Tampa, Florida is searching for a Supervisor for our Molecular Laboratory.
A growing laboratory management company and reference laboratory in Tampa, Florida is searching for a Supervisor for our Molecular Laboratory. The Molecular Supervisor reports directly to the Laboratory Manager of the company and is responsible for established and non-established protocols for RNA isolation, cDNA conversion, hybridizations, and flourescence labeling of DNA, including all appropriate safety procedures, validation of new in-house assays, commercial products and methodology including parallel testing, pilot studies and develop worksheets and records.

This position:
- Is proficient in molecular biology techniques involving RNA, DNA, and oligonucleotide samples.
- Prioritizes and allocates available histology resources; reviews and evaluates service delivery and executes changes in operations to ensure maximum effective quality and service.
- Initiates/participates in the development of new procedures, prepare drafts, review and maintain policy and procedure manuals, worksheets and quality assurance protocols.
- Performs quality assurance and control duties including equipment validation, calibration, maintenance, repairs, recognizing malfunctions and initiating corrective action.
- Trouble shoots all the technical procedures.
- Plans, organizes, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate technical staff.
- Makes sound decisions in training, professional development and work evaluation of subordinate staff.
- Is responsible for annual competency training, evaluations, hiring, promotion and discipline of the Molecular staff as required.

Job Requirements:
- BS in Biological/Physical Sciences or equivalent experience.
- MT (ASCP) and eligible for Florida supervisor licensure.
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a medical technologist.
- Extensive molecular biology experience.
- 1-2 years preferred leadership experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills with internal and external clients (written and verbal).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
