Description: 2nd largest provider in Arizona is seeking Medical Directors for 5 hospitals
The Hospital Medical Director will serve as a member of the Administrative team and as a key interface with the Medical Staff and other physician organizations at Abrazo Health. The Hospital Medical Director will support the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief of the Medical Staff by providing leadership in all aspects of medical affairs with particular emphasis on clinical care and efficiency throughout the continuum. The primary objective of this position is to improve all aspects of quality of care at Abrazo Health through rigorous outcomes measurement and performance improvement processes. The incumbent will forge strong and enduring linkages and alignments with physician providers. The Hospital Medical Director shall have no punitive or disciplinary authority in the medical staff organization but shall assist the Chief of Staff, the Medical Staff Officers, the Medical Executive Committee and the Departments in responding to complaints regarding physician behavior and performance. The Hospital Medical Director to work with the Abrazo Health Regional Chief Medical Officer to achieve system-wide management goals and objectives with particular emphasis on care management, clinical information systems, customer satisfaction, physician leadership development, and other similar system-wide initiatives.

Position Summary

The Hospital Medical Director is a leadership position created to build on and strengthen the positive and mutually supportive relationship between hospital administration and the medical staff. As such, the Hospital Medical Director will work closely with both the administrative staff and members of the medical staff and its leadership to maintain the high quality of the medical staff and to help lead the medical staff participation in furthering the mission of the organization, with a duty to support the mission and philosophy of Abrazo Health and Vangaurd. The position reports to the Market Chief Medical Officer and exercises direct supervisory responsibility for quality assurance/quality improvement, disease and medical management, and any others as assigned and which are directly responsible to him/her for their capital and education budgets, departmental planning as well as their clinical departmental supervisory functions. Additionally, the Hospital Medical Director will have a close working relationship with the various Medical Directors to improve the overall quality of care delivered in their respective areas. All Hospital Medical Director activities will occur to support hospital's CEO and other hospital administrative and clinical personnel. Hospital Medical Director serves as a member of the hospital administrative team.
