in Nation • Established from a need to provide quality healthcare to the citizens of eastern North Carolina, the Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) at East Carolina University consistently ranks nationally in family medicine, primary care and rural medicine. News & World Reports) • In only three decades, BSOM also serves as a leader in specialty training and research in cardiovascular and robotic surgery, diabetes, cancer and pediatrics. • Serving a 29-county region in eastern North Carolina, the current family medicine facility is outdated, and can no longer meet the clinical care and training needs of the BSOM. • The new proposed Family Medicine Center will be a state-of-the-art facility with more than triple the space currently available. • Patient access to care will increase by 30% and will allow for high quality healthcare to the region’s population by offering community assessment and educational programs on an outreach basis. • The Family Medicine Center will provide better, more efficient facilities to meet the training needs of medical students and family medicine residents. University is seeking Pulmonologists and Intensivists
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking Pulmonologists and Intensivists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a tenure track or fixed-term appointment. Due to rapid expansion opportunities exist for Fellowship Program Director, Director of Interventional Pulmonology, Co-Director of the Sleep Lab, and Head of Respiratory Therapy Services. Collaborative opportunities exist in the basic sciences departments including Physiology and Immunology with scientists involved in animal models of Asthma and Sarcoidosis. There is a large clinical base as well as a lung biology group. This clinically productive division is actively involved in the training of medical students, residents, and pulmonary/critical care fellows through its affiliation with Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH). PCMH is a 761-bed tertiary care hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. The division recently moved into a new outpatient clinic.
