Position Summary

Purpose:
To serve as support for Emergency Management Department in initiating and oversight of emergency management for the IDS. Promotes continuous learning, ongoing education and assists AD and Director in implementation of strategic plan for ongoing emergency preparedness.

Knowledge and Skills:
Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is knowledge of Emergency Preparedness at the state, local and national level. Knowledge of legislative process, agenda and appropriate community resources for emergency preparedness. Knowledge of hospital emergency preparedness and management. Also required in this job is the ability to develop strong relationships with the IDS and community leadership to assure appropriate compliance with policies related to emergency preparedness and management. Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel are a must.

Formal Education, License and Experience:
The formal education normally associated with completely satisfactory performance in this job is a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience related to emergency preparedness and management. (Additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree). Must possess, or within the first 6 months of employment in this position, achieve DHS/FEMA
IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, & IS-800 course certifications.
