Description:
Responsible for modeling clinical concepts
in SNOMED® Clinical Terms (SNOMED® CT). Support
content in a subspecialty domain and serve as primary
point of contact internally and externally for content
issues related to that subspecialty.
Clinical Content Modeling: • Model clinical content with a focus on a subspecialty domain in accordance with IHTSDO editorial guidelines and principles. Add newly requested content to SNOMED CT in a manner consistent with established modeling processes. • Ensure that SNOMED CT content is accurate and consistent with current subspecialty knowledge. • Maintain content with a focus on support of international subspecialty users. Assist in making content decisions with collaborating special interest groups. • Proactively collaborate in developing/proposing solutions related to subspecialty content Lead Subspecialty Terminology Effort with focus on area of Pharmacology • Serve as expert for the IHTSDO in particular the Pharmacy Special Interest Group. Participate in and support group communication via website, listserv and conference calls. • Support collaborative efforts which build recognition of SNOMED CT as the healthcare terminology standard. • Act as subspecialty liaison to IHTSDO, professional organizations, regulatory and government groups, and SNOMED users. • Provide support for SNOMED Terminology Solutions initiatives as needed. SKILLS REQUIRED: • Extensive clinical knowledge, in particular in the area of clinical pharmacology • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. • Ability to learn and complete complex clinical editing tasks in a timely manner • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to interact with external medical domain, government and industry experts • Ability to organize and lead in a collaborative environment EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: MD or DO degree. Minimum of three years experience in direct patient care preferred. Minimum of three years in pharmaceutical industry, or as PharmD, or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of SNOMED CT, experience in electronic health record system development, implementation or support a plus. Please click 'Apply to Job' Posting
