Pediatric Emergency Medicine Opportunity
Houston,

The Emergency Medicine Section of the Department
of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, in association
with the Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) and Ben Taub
General Hospital (BTGH), is seeking academically oriented
pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physicians for clinical
and administrative positions at all of our practice
locations. TCH is the largest free-standing pediatric
tertiary care hospital in the world with over 80,000
Emergency Center (EC) visits, annually. In addition
to staffing the TCH EC, our subboards and generalists
provide PEM coverage to the emergency centers of several
nearby community hospitals including St. Luke's Episcopal
Hospital at the Woodlands, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital
in Sugarland and Ben Taub General Hospital (Harris
County Hospital District). Collectively, our PEM outpatient
faculty care for over 110,000 children annually. In
addition to our current faculty needs, we are in the
first phase of a large expansion that includes the
opening of our West Campus located in Katy, Texas,
in 2010. The West Campus will begin as a scaled-down
version of the TCH campus and will include a 10-bed
EC, 80 inpatient beds, OR suites, and full diagnostics.
The hospital is projected to expand into the country's
largest suburban pediatric hospital by 2015 as the
population in that region grows.
We are looking
for faculty at the junior and senior level with clinical
as well as academic and administrative interests. Administrative
openings include the Assistant Medical Director position
at TCH and West Campus.
Qualified applicants
must be BC/BE in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, or
Pediatric Emergency Medicine. We offer a competitive
