MMC Temp, long term (7-24 months) Shift: First Shift (Day) Hours: 40 Job Details: Summary of Position Description This is a highly responsible, supportive, and consultative work in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer software systems used in the Ambulatory setting. The position will be a key member of the Project Management Team supporting the implementation of the Epic Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record. According to established policies and procedures, formulates or oversees the creation of logical statements of complex clinical and technical problems for clinical and administrative hospital departments (i.e., laboratory systems, clinical research) and devises procedures for solving same through the use of electronic data processing and programming systems. Works with user departments and practices to identify project parameters and output requirements. Quality of work must be exceptionally high as errors could have a negative impact on patient safety, revenue or clinical decision-making. Work is complex and analytical in nature, is performed independently and is reviewed by the manager through discussion and observation of results achieved. Current certification in Epic ambulatory applications and previous clinical experience is highly desirable. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 1. BA/BS highly desirable 2. Within 6 months of employment, certification in Epic Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record is required. This is accomplished through completion of Epic course requirements and successful completion of the Epic Certification exam. 3. 5-8 years of experience in healthcare strongly preferred, particularly in the ambulatory setting. 4. Knowledge of principles, skills and techniques utilized in clinical setting to accomplish departmental objectives through computer applications normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program in a health care related field or equivalent related experience.
