Unit Description:

The Rehab Center at St. David's provides individualized Rehabilitation services through a multidisciplinary team approach. The Rehab Center on the 3rd floor is a 24-bed Neuro Rehab unit that serves primarily traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and encephalopathy. We are an acute facility that provides 24 hour specialized nursing care and a minimum of 3 hours of physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatics, speech therapy, cognitive therapy and therapeutic recreation. We also provide psychological services, respiratory and dietary services as needed. Our emphasis is to assist our patients in regaining their independence and returning home. We foster an environment for our staff member that encourages research, creativity, and personal growth.

Shifts available:
-Various, the unit is a 24-hour, seven day a week department.
-Shifts are scheduled depending on departments needs
-Shift differentials are available
-Weekend plans available
-Sign-on and relocation bonuses available for specific position
-Come work for a Rehab unit that has a great nurse to patient ratio.

There are currently several staff RN positions available in the Rehab hospital. We have a floor dedicated to Neuro Rehabilitation and a floor dedicated to Orthopedic Rehabilitation. Nurses are assisted by Pt. Care Techs, Lab, Respiratory Therapy, etc.

Position Description:

The Position is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Supervisor of the Nursing Unit. According to hospital policies and procedures, the Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients.

Skills/Requirements

Education/Experience:

Required:
-Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing.
-2 years of Nursing experience in the areas float.

Preferred:
-Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree.
-Experience as a Staff Nurse in an acute care setting.

License/Certification:

Required:
-Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
-Current certification from the American Heart Association as a BLS provider.

Preferred:
-Certification in area of specialty.
