Maryland General Hospital is currently hiring an Employee Health Nurse. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the daily and annual planning, development, implementation and evaluation of activities and services relating to Employee health. They will be required to provide high quality and cost effective occupational health services to all MGH employees, volunteers, and physicians.

The MGH Employee Health Nurse will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
• The ability to demonstrate behavior consistent with the Vision, Mission an Goals of Maryland General Hospital.

• Maintaining an appropriate and complete Employees Health file for each MGH employee, and assures records remain confidential.

• Keeps all records and logs accurately and in accordance with National and State NIOH, OSHA, and Health Department regulations and standards.

• Reviewing and maintaining pre-employment assessment reports on employees and stipulates to their completeness; contacts new employees for follow-up testing and/or immunization.

• Provides detailed reports on shapes injuries, BBF exposures and other work-related injuries monthly.

• Records sent to Human Resources accordance with MGH guidelines, ADA, and other regulatory agencies.

• Proficiency in MS Word and Respond computer programs after experience in use.

• Competently administers PPD Testing and appropriate vaccines, guided by applicable policy.

• Performs phlebotomy, vital signs and physical assessments appropriately.

• Appropriately recognizes when employee needs are beyond the skill of the EH Department and assists with appropriate referral.

• Assesses employees who become ill or who are injured at work and assists in making appropriate referral and follow-up with personal MD, ED as necessary.

• Coordinates employee's ability to return to work in collaboration with their primary health care provider.

• Provides education/training to MGH employees as needed regarding EH, employee wellness, and safety issues.

• Is responsive to employee needs by serving on appropriate employee related teams.

• Is competent in HIV-related medical testing pre and post-test counseling.

• Assesses and recommends appropriate use of new technology in treatment of employee's exposures, injuries and/or accidents on the job.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing as an RN, with at least two years of clinical nursing experience.

• Licensed in the state of Maryland of practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. BSN preferred

• BCLS Certification.
