Position Summary
Purpose:
To assess, plan implement, evaluate patient care and educate patients and families in a manner that is age/developmentally appropriate for patients ranging from neonate to adult. To deliver concierge level service to all patients and families.

Knowledge and Skills:
Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is a knowledge of a nursing pediatrics, pediatric oncology, pediatric hematology, and chemotherapy. Also required is the ability to demonstrate the ability to perform generic and unit-based/critical competencies; including the specific care of age and diagnosis appropriate patients; demonstrate positive interpersonal skills; utilized time and resources in a cost effective manner; demonstrate flexibility; demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills; operate basic medical equipment (IMED, IVAC, EKG and Vital Signs Monitor, Scale and additional equipment specific to individual units;) read and analyze basic medical equipment; utilize a personal computer and basic office equipment; administer; monitor and document chemotherapy.

Formal Education, License and Experience:
The formal education normally associated with completely satisfactory performance in this job is a Diploma in Nursing, an Associate's Degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Must have a current permit of registration with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is preferred.
