Qualifications: Bachelor�s degree or equivalent experience (usually four (4) years) in nursing orrelated field such as health care management required. Masters degree preferred. Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing. Current California RN license required. CPR certification required.

Experience in ambulatory care nursing or other relevant clinical experience required (usually five(5) to six (6) years) including previous supervisory experience (usually three (3) years). Knowledgeof Nurse Practice Act, JCAHO, and other local, state and federal regulations. Clinicalspecialization in area of practice preferred. Demonstrated interpersonal skills; knowledge ofambulatory care practices/operations/issues. Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills,abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to eachother, to our members, and to customers, contracted providers, and vendors.

Duties: Manages the delivery of nursing services and out patient care which are integrated withbusiness plans and meet or exceed cost, quality, clinical and utilization standards and performancemeasures. Ensures that services meet members, physicians and internal clients� needs in a changing,competitive health care market. Manages, coordinates service delivery and/or programs assigned toassistant manager (s). With SCPMG staff develops strategic/business plans to achieve integratedservices across the continuum of care. Manages and ensures continuous improvement of all clinicalpractices, services and operations by designing and implementing systems, processes and methods toevaluate and improve patient care across the continuum of care. Ensures Assistants and staff providethe highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, JCAHO, federal,state, and local requirements. Collaborates with physicians and other health care providers inestablishing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating/improving patient care and quality servicestandards to meet members� and internal clients� expectations. Acts as a patient advocate resolvingpatient care issues. Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care resultsacross the continuum of care. Develops and manages budgets and resource allocations. Monitorsfinancial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve qualityof care/service. Determines the appropriate staff mix for department and develops processes toscreen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff. Provides ongoing staff development. Develops, implements and monitors departmental policies and procedureswhich support the organization�s goals/business objectives and ensures they are met. Collaborateswith Physician Team Leader and Department Chief in developing the level of patient services and theday to day operations of the department. Manages and resolves human resource, labor relations,employee and department safety, and risk management issues. Consistently supports compliance and thePrinciples of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente�s Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy andconfidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics andintegrity, reporting non compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws andregulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente�s policies and procedures. In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistentlydemonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service QualityCredo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountablefor consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to providesuperior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers,contracted providers and vendors.
