Job Responsibilities

The Associate Consultant position will be focused on providing services to our hospital and physician office client-base throughout Alberta. Responsibilities will include but are not limited data conversion and management, interface data mapping and support of technical projects.

The Associate Consultant works in conjunction with the project team to meet measured goals and milestones. Interfaces directly with the client as needed to accomplish tasks effectively with minimum interruption to client operations. Map data fields and perform formatting for data acceptance in new application. Convert data from various formats to SQL Server. Perform reconciliation and ensure data integrity of all conversion activity. The Associate Consultant must be prepared to apply strong analytical skills to all problem-solving and troubleshooting to find the best solution to any challenges. Will contribute to written updates and documentation needed for all engagements.

Qualifications

The Associate Consultant must possess the ability to understand data formats, the integration of healthcare applications, and their impact on business process and operations. Also understands the importance and responsibility of working with confidential information such as medical reports and ensures all precautions are taken to maintain security. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of clients staff. Must be forward thinking, able to meet project deadlines, possess high level of energy and professional acumen, and be client service oriented. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Must exhibit a dedication to quality, reliability and resourcefulness.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, listening, and verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have the ability to anticipate problems and visualize solutions on a proactive basis.

Qualified candidates will have experience with data management/conversions and possess knowledge of interface data mapping. Proficiency in .Net or C# programming and interface engine implementation experience is preferred. Two to four years programming experience is desired. Additional experience in HL7, EDI, and Scripting is a plus. Successful candidates will also have experience in developing specifications, documentation, and test plans. The ability to meet project deadlines is required.

Maintains at least 85% billable utilization rate.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of one year hands on experience with programming or data management. College Diploma or higher is preferred but not required. Experience working in a health care organization or consulting firm also desired.

Previous experience with any of the follow tasks helpful:
.Net or C# programming
HL7, EDI or Scripting exposure
Extensive database knowledge (SQL Server, Access, Oracle, DB2, Dbase, FoxPro)
Working experience with XML and unstructured data
Writing software to perform data mapping (Visual Basic, .Net, or equivalent)

Travel to Client locations throughout Alberta and British Columbia is required however all expense paid travel is provided.
