Leads and manages regional business planning and development initiatives and drive new ventures and partnerships that advance the Region´s strategy. Continually assess the competitive marketplace for the opportunity to grow the business to include acquisitions and/or joint ventures. Assess the provider and employer market landscape for opportunities for expansion. Reports to the Sr. Director, Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Essential Functions:
• Lead and manage regional business planning and development initiatives
• Assess and develop feasibility studies for:: new business ventures, including acquisitions, new market(s) expansion, new product development in conjunction with Health Plan product segment leaders, new service offerings
• Coordinate with Financial staff to ensure new business developments meet financial projections and targets
• Continually assess the competitive marketplace for new business ventures and service offerings to strengthen KPNW´s market position and grow the business to include acquisitions and/or joint ventures
• Works with Health Plan product segment leaders to influence new product offerings are in place to meet marketplace demand
• Assess the provider and employer market landscape for opportunities for expansion into new geographies
• Develop and coordinate analysis and business case preparation for presentation
• Perform other duties as required
Basic Qualifications: • 5 years of experience in project management, forecasting, planning or other strategic or analytical field • Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Economics, Operations Research, Public Health Administration or other related discipline • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of analytic techniques pertinent to facilities planning, finance, management engineering, and medical economics, including forecasting, sensitivity analysis, cost-benefit/effectiveness analysis, operations research and financial analysis such as NPV • Basic knowledge of advanced analytic techniques such as dynamic modeling/simulation, decision analysis, cost-benefit/effectiveness and other economic analysis, and operations research • Strong market analysis and negotiation skills • Proven leadership skills in project management and consulting, including the following attributes:: efficient, collaborative, candid, open, results-oriented and innovative • Strong proficiency in use of current software, including spreadsheets, statistical applications, process mapping tools, project work plan tools, charts and graphs, database management, decision support, and data warehousing applications • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (1:1, peer, multi-disciplinary group, oral presentations, written documents), ability to facilitate project groups of up to 12 people, supporting the project leader in meeting planning, management, and maintaining good group process • Ability to manage against multiple competing priorities of customers and business process • Proven ability to determine the key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives. Develop and execute fact-based, data-driven methodologies to address strategic issues • Demonstration ability to establish clear performance expectations and results. • Manage multiple projects to achieve customer expectations, on schedule and within budget • Facilitate teams or groups of key stakeholders from all levels and segments of the organization, build teams and resolve conflict. Preferred Qualifications:: • Advanced degree • Experience in an integrated health care system • Experience working with capital projects and business development in healthcare
