We are currently seeking a full-time Cardiovascular Radiology Tech who under general supervision, will be responsible for operating fluoroscopic x-ray equipment, providing clinically proficient and professional patient care and assisting in the performance of catheterization and other related procedures (right heart, biopsy, pericardial centesis, coronary and peripheral interventional procedures, brachial cutdown, etc.). Additional responsibilities include assisting in inventory, quality improvement/assurance, patient follow-up and data collection programs and overseeing the radiology programs.
Qualified candidates must possess:
California Registered X-Ray License
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists License
Fluoroscopy License
Basic Life Support Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
Professional knowledge of radiology and cardiac cath lab principles and procedures as well as completion of two years post high school training at an approved school of Radiologic Technology
Two years previous cardiac cath lab experience or similar area preferred
Ability to act as resource for other staff members in knowledge of and performance of advanced clinical skills specific to area of practice
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, hospital staff and the public
Ability to use teaching skills necessary in order to support patients and other staff learning and information needs.
Analytical skills necessary in order to prepare cath lab reports and to provide support and suggestions during procedures to ensure safety and completeness
Knowledge of normal and abnormal physiology of the heart
Ability to recognize hemodynamic and anatomic abnormalities and to appreciate their significance
Possessive of manual dexterity to handle intracardiac equipment and dark room processing duties
Possessive of visual and aural acuity
