Quick Leonard Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for Chief Operating Officer of a 296-bed acute-care community hospital located just outside of Baltimore, Maryland.
As a member hospital of a health system, the medical center sees approximately 19,000 inpatients each year, and its busy Emergency Department sees more than 92,000 patients annually. The medical center is staffed by more than 2,300 employees, and more than 600 physicians have privileges there.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the new COO will be responsible for the operations of the medical center. This executive will be an integral part of the leadership team and specifically have oversight for such areas as: hospital operations, strategic planning, quality initiatives, information technology, financial management & budgeting, and so forth. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least ten years of experience in hospital operations at a large, complex medical center, preferably one within a system. The successful candidate will be well prepared academically, with a master�s degree in business administration, health care management, or a related area.
