Clinical Applications Analyst
Responsible for development, function and implementation of clinical software systems, training materials and on-going maintenance of the applications. Primary emphasis will be on Meditech’s predetermined applications depending on area, including integration with other clinical applications, with a patient-centered focus within the Electronic Medical Record. Collaborates with other Application Specialists & HIT under the direction of the Clinical Applications Manager to ensure integrated and accurate medical record.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for performing and coordinating the building, implementation, maintenance, and on-going upgrades of assigned Meditech applications.
• Facilitates coordination of patient information between MediTech clinical modules by assisting core teams and departmental support staff with MediTech builds and support issues.
• Ensures development and flow of information from module(s) is integrated and patient-centered within the Electronic Medical Record through coordination of efforts with other applications or modules.
• Monitor and analyze functions, processes and outcomes to identify areas for effectiveness and improvement. Responds to real/potential problems based on urgency; reviews data and systems to identify problems; collaborates with appropriate resources to obtain and implement corrective action; evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Act as communication liaison within Nursing, IS, HIT and other departments regarding Meditech and related IT issues; communicates in a tactful, courteous and professional manner.
• Assists in developing training and education materials for new and existing personnel for the Meditech clinical applications; identifies educational needs; communicates information to Department Heads and Educators.
• Performs/participates in the assessment of new software specialty modules as assigned.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all customers to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Interacts with above in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner. Maintains open communication using appropriate chain of command regarding issues. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Presents neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position, department and Hospital policy. Continuously displays a “can do” attitude within the department and across departmental lines to contribute to overall customer service.
• Participates in professional and role development activities; acquires new skills as required.
• Participates in on-call support for applications as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant

Job Qualifications:
• Education: Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: 3-5 years Clinical or Nursing experience required. Meditech experience required. Meditech Client Server experience highly desireable. 3-5 years of user training on hospital information systems software strongly preferred.
• Required Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license preferred.
• Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Critical thinking skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal; typing and data entry computer skills.
• Working Environment: Works in a temperature controlled environment with natural and artificial lighting.
• Essential Physical Requirements: Able to perform repetitive sitting, reaching, bending, and stooping. Performs minimal lifting and carrying of 5 lbs.
