Following procedures established by the Section Heads, laboratory management and the pathologist directors, a Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests in many areas of the laboratory, including High Complexity Tests as defined by CLIA. A CLS is responsible for accuracy and reporting of results of application of principles, theories and techniques, professional judgment, computer proficiency, microscopic proficiency, and good communications skills.
Qualifications
Education:
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major in the biological or chemical sciences as required
Licenses/Certificates:
• Valid Clinical Laboratory License preferred
