We are currently seeking an outstanding Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Department of Psychiatry at NYP. In this unique career opportunity, you will provide consultation, nursing expertise and clinical teaching within a major academic hospital setting. Our programs include the renowned Second Chance initiative for previously institutionalized patients, as well as a groundbreaking clinical study of anorexia nervosa. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) recently awarded a multimillion-dollar grant to our pioneering geriatric program, a lifeline for this often-misdiagnosed population. Our behavioral health nurses are empowered with resources to make a real difference in patients lives, and are valued members of the interdisciplinary team.
In this position, your in-depth understanding of the complex clinical and human aspects of this specialty will be a critical resource to patients, families and healthcare providers. We are particularly seeking creative problem-solvers with excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as previous teaching experience.
Qualified candidates will have a masters degree in nursing along with BCLS and ACLS certification. NYS RN licensure is required, as is five years of related nursing experience.
