The Controller position reports to the CFO and is responsible for assisting in the management of the Borgess Lee process of preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, financial indicators, and other reports as requested by the CFO and Administrators. Manages the operating budget process to ensure both financial targets and timelines are met. Oversight responsibilities for tax compliance, reporting and annual audit. Works closely with CFO with financial data analysis and planning. Supervises staff within the General Accounting department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of progressive work experience in order to gain knowledge of health care trends and practices, regulations and financial techniques necessary to forecast and budget, and supervisory experience.

  • Interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with administration and managers regarding various financial information and data, policies and procedures.
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to develop budgets, coordinate audits, produce accurate financial statements, costing data, and internal profitability reporting along with other related reports.
  • Prior experience in Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinics and/or Cost Reimbursement principals is preferred.
