MAJOR DUTIES:1. This Scope of Work is specific to the duties and responsibilities of a CRNA, who is the supervising physicians agent in the provision of patient care. As an agent of the supervising physician the CRNA will provide the following services, but is not limited to:
2. Routine Duties
Completes a patient evaluation and progress notes as Togus regulations require.
Write pre-op anesthesia order (which must be co-signed by physician prior to surgery).
Completes pre-anesthesia assessment.
Perform regional techniques of spinal, epidural, and combined techniques.
Determines that patient is candidate for planned choice of anesthesia after completing pre-anesthesia assessment and before the administration of anesthesia.
Documents findings according to hospital policy.
Induce general anesthesia, control emergence & extubation of patients.
Maintain anesthesia at required levels.
Support life functions during the administrating of anesthesia, including induction and intubation.
Recognize and take appropriate action for abnormal patient responses to anesthesia or to any adjunctive medicine or other form of therapy.
Provide professional observation and resuscitative care until patient has regained control of vital functions.
Monitor regional, topical and spinals induced by physician.
Complete post assessments and progress notes and any follow-up orders needed for patient care.
Emergent code/floor intubations, Run ACLS Code as certified until physician arrives.

General Anesthesia = Bread/Butter: No heart, head, OB.
The CRNA will report to the Chief of Anesthesia Section. Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, including on-call during off-tour hours and weekends. On-call is every other weekend with a ratio of 1:3 for call during week.
On-Call work independent with MDA available.
On-Call availability in one hour.
