This position has all the duties and responsibilities of the Systems Analyst position plus additional responsibilities as follows: responsible for designing, controlling and coordinating the architecture of data schemas stored within data bases. The DBA has overall control over the database software, the design and access of data bases by the various MCC&RI systems applications and the interface of data from application to application via the MCC&RI Interface Engine. Set up and administer data base middleware interface structures, security and standards for passing application data from system to system via network and interface engine software. Install, implement and maintain data base management systems, e.g. Oracle, SQL Server. Design and develop integrated systems test plans relevant to data base implementations. Monitor and ensure the quality of data accessed throughout the enterprise. Ensure that all systems are adequately tested to ensure integrity and accuracy of data processed throughout MCC&RI. Keep abreast of technology advances and provide in-house training to the I.S. staff relevant to data base management, client/server, multimedia, etc. Perform data base design, requirements analysis and benchmarking for clinical, administrative and financial information systems.
