Harrison College , a leader in private, post-secondary education, is currently seeking a creative, dedicated individual to serve as a Dean of Nursing for our Fort Wayne, Indiana Campus.

This leadership position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for activities related to the planning, development, and evaluation of the colleges nursing program. Significant opportunities exist for the ideal candidate to have an immediate impact on the direction of this program.

Responsibilities include: Provides curriculum leadership and coordinates program evaluation and curriculum revision activities. Monitors program adherence to the state regulations/national accreditation criteria. Acts as spokesperson for department and/or college as required to area hospitals, agencies, other community activities, and state, regional and national organizations. Provides leadership in developing and establishing department programs and policies. Directs development & preparation of department´s budget and the department instructional materials. Develops, with faculty participation, department goals and strategies to achieve goals. Coordinates the nursing student selection. Appraises and communicates program needs to administration.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Masters degree, MSN, or earned doctorate. Teaching and administrative experience in nursing education is required.

Other qualifications include: Knowledge of principles and practices of professional nursing, curriculum development and instructional theory and applications. Understands and supports the use of technology in curriculum development and delivery. Knowledge of state mandated regulations and national accreditation criteria. Five years of experience in nursing practice and nurse education.
