Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) is a 100+-year-old organization dedicated to providing seniors with the highest quality of life through an integrated network of health care, research, housing and teaching programs in the Greater Boston area. It is the largest nonprofit provider of senior health care and housing in New England. Our mission is to honor our elders by respecting and promoting their independence, spiritual vigor, dignity and choice and by recognizing that they are a resource to be cherished. Our health-care network comprises Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, a long-term, sub-acute, and long-term medical acute care facility in Boston; three senior housing sites-Jack Satter House in Revere, Simon C. Fireman Community in Randolph, and Center Communities of Brookline; and Orchard Cove, a life-care community in Canton. The Institute for Aging Research in Boston, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is one of the most prestigious aging research facilities in the country. HSLs NewBridge on the Charles, our premier multigenerational continuing care retirement community in Dedham, consists of 256 independent living units, 50 assisted living units, 41 memory support assisted living units, and a 268-bed Health Care Center, which offers long-term and sub-acute care. Hebrew SeniorLife also offers services to the community, including Adult Day Health programs and outpatient clinics in audiology, exercise, memory disorders, osteoporosis screening, and rehabilitation.

The Director of Community Life directs and delivers an exceptional quality of life and wellness of NewBridge´s independent living community and individual residents: physical, spiritual, cultural, educational, social, medical and psychological. The sub-departments of community life include: programming, social resourcing, spiritual life, fitness, wellness, and community engagement. Through leadership, NB Community Life will provide creative, compelling programming and engagement within the community as an aspect of life that will set us apart as the CCRC industry leader. The Director is responsible for developing a vibrant culture of life-long learning and excellence in inter-generational programming with The Rashi School and Dedham schools. Collaboration with the directors of marketing and of sales is essential to provide a creative, vibrant palette of activities, programs and curriculums par for the demographic of NewBridge residents. This position may also support, as needed, the community life activities in assisted living traditional and memory support residences, as well as NBOC staff.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree minimum required
-Minimum 3 years management experience required
-Minimum 5 years experience in social services, programming or marketing relative to senior communities or services required
-Ability to gain certification as identified
-Proficiency in the use of pertinent computer applications required, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with graphic design
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; ability to communicate clearly with peers and staff, verbally and in writing.
-Ability to make complex assessments of care needs and communicate these needs/recommendations to other disciplines, families and residents/participants
