Director of HVC/CVICU

Medical Center of Arlington

North-Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas

This position oversees the operations of Critical Care Services (Heart and Vascular Center, and CVICU).

Plans, directs and coordinates all operational activities for areas of responsibility. Develops policies and procedures as well as the quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility. Develops the capital and operating budgets. Ensures areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed by hiring and retaining competent staff. As a member of Medical Center of Arlingtons management team makes a significant contribution to the publics perception of the hospital. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Responsible for development and enforcement of policies and procedures that ensure quality patient care. Responsible for ensuring adequate Human Resources are available in areas of responsibility. Responsible for maintaining acceptable turnover in areas of responsibility. Ensures operations run within budgetary guidelines. Responsible for positive employee engagement and appropriate communication with staff. Responsible for quality and performance improvement activities in department and multidisciplinary practices. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines as set by federal, state, local and othe agencies (i.e, JCAHO, Medicare, TDH). Facilitates positive and productive relationships with physicians that involves bilateral communication. Responsible for positive internal and external customer satisfaction results and to ensure that all staff meet the service standards. Service Standards: It remains the responsibility of each staff member to work to exceed customer expectations and create an environment of exceptional service. The goal of the HVC is to provide a sense of personalized care and positive experiences for our patients, families, and visitors

Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications include:

* Current licensure as an RN in the state of Texas
* Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelors degree preferred. Masters degree desired.
* 5 years or more of clinical nursing experience in an ICU or other Critical Care setting.
* Must have at least 3-5 years of management experience i in healthcare.
* Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
* Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, strong communication skills and leadership abilities.
* Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
