MacNeals Tumor Registry Department has an immediate full-time days lead Cancer Tumor Registrar position available.
Under the supervision of the Manager of Medical Transcription, the Coordinator is responsible for supporting the hospitals American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accredited cancer program by operating and developing goals, objectives, strategic plans, obtains approval and implementation of the oncology program and contributes to treatment planning, staging and continuity of care of cancer patients.
The level of knowledge equivalent to completion of college level of anatomy, physiology, histology and medical terminology course work
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) designation
Two years experience working in a cancer registry field preferred
Experience in abstracting, coding, site-specific staging
Knowledge of AJCC, ACOS, IDPH, SEER, COC, NCDB, FORDS guidelines
Knowledge of the mandatory Illinois cancer reporting requirements.
