Salary: $2055.93 to $2,367.14 bi-weekly
**This is a term position to August 2010.
Alcohol and Drug Services department is looking for a professional to join our team of Licensed Practical Nurses in a dynamic team driven environment. This position is responsible for supervising clients with their drug and alcohol withdrawal and assisting in the recovery process at the Detoxification Centre. If you have experience working as an LPN, then we are interested in speaking with you.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Detox, these positions are members of the Licensed Practical Nurses team and as such, provide quality care to clients to help meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs; participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans; guides the functional care given by Recovery Unit Attendants and performs other related duties. LPNs at ADS are also supported by a doctor who attends the facility on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate must have certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse, should clearly demonstrate their experience and knowledge of nursing practices and techniques normally acquired through work experience.
Candidates must also have some experience providing assessment and supportive counseling to individuals combined with experience working in a cross cultural environment. Experience in maintaining records is required.
Condition(s) of Employment: Current L.P.N. certification with Medication Administration; TB testing; security clearance; yearly CPR certification, Level C Standard First Aid certification.
Job Requirement(s): Rotating Shift work, the ability to assist in lifting/transferring of clients, and potential exposure to communicable disease.
A nine-month eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.
