The Medical Instrument Technologist (Echo) will be responsible for the organization and smooth operation of the echocardiography lab. Scheduling patients, performing appropriate studies and distributing reports to patients charts and to requesting physicians, maintaining inventory of supplies needed for procedures, maintaining cardiology files and videotapes. The technologist will perform non-invasive echo procedures, using judgment in selecting and recording appropriate data for optimal diagnostic clarity and reliability. Prepares for, assists in, and sees to care of equipment following the performance of invasive procedures. The specifics might vary from case to case but generally include providing all necessary equipment and supplies, arranging for a procedure room, scheduling the patient and coordinating the various personnel and services involved. The technologist will also provide cross coverage in the Electrocardiography Lab, performing exercise tolerance testing (including Nuclear Medicine exercise tolerance testing), Holter and loop cardiac monitor application, data collection and electrocardiograms.Please Note: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification is required.
