Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist III reports to the Neurophysiology Supervisor and works closely with the IOM team leader. Performs all aspects of Neurodiagnostic testing procedures to assess the functional integrity of the peripheral and/or central nervous system during vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgical operative procedures, in accordance with standards of practice as defined by Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. Works independently, utilizing a variety of sophisticated instruments and demonstrates good judgment and decision making in the performance of clinical neurophysiologic procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: patient hook-ups and daily maintenance of electrodes; daily archiving of patient data; preparing data for physician review; equipment maintenance; staff education and cross-training of EEG Technologist I and II; supply inventory. Participates on an On-Call schedule to provide emergency diagnostic or monitoring services after hours (weekend and holidays). Readily accommodates changes in patient scheduling as needed such as add-on STAT studies and receives directives via pager or cell phone from Supervisor. Participates in the interview process of additional technologists.

Educational Requirements:
High School graduate and graduate of an electroencephalographic technology program accredited by Allied Health and Accreditation or equivalent formal training.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Registration by ABRET in EEG or EP or CNIM.

Experience:
Minimum of five years of document experience in EEG or EP & IOM. Documented competency in all modalities of intraoperative monitoring as well as evidence of having performed at least 100 cases per year.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry 0-100 pounds on an intermittent basis. Able to sit, stand, 67-100% of the time. Must be able to walk, bend consistently.
