SCHEDULE: Part-Time Regular, 30 hours per week, Day shift; Week 1: Monday, Wednesday - 0630 to 1900 & Thursday - 0800 to 2030
EDUCATION:
Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Post BSN Program. MS Required. NPI Required. Acute Care NP Degree Preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Current CPR Healthcare Provider course completion. Current ACLS preferred. Current California Furnishing Number or obtains within 6 months of date of hire. National Certification Required. Current California Nurse Practitioner License
Position Summary:
The Nurse practitioner, functioning in accordance with the State of California Nurse Practice Act and department standardized procedures and protocols, is responsible for providing comprehensive patient preoperative and pre-catheterization evaluation, managing patient´s post-procedure for cardiac catheterization and cardiothoracic surgery patient populations, coordinating post-discharge patient care for cardiac catheterization and cardiothoracic surgery patient populations and providing patient education programs, in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team. The Nurse Practitioner also provides cardiac outpatient services were applicable. The Nurse Practitioner is directly accountable to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Division Chief, the Cardiology Division Chief, the Cardiac Cath Lab Medical Director and the Nurse Practitioner Team Nurse Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated ability to assess Health status and develop a plan of a care; ensuring appropriate follow-up in accordance with established approved Nurse Practitioner protocols.
2. Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
3. Excellent work history.
4. Demonstrated history of excellent attendance.
5. Minimum of one year´s experience as a Cardiac Surgery and or Cardiology Nurse Practitioner preferred.
6. Recent Critical Care Nursing experience required.
7. In all interactions with patient, members, physicians, staff and visitors, demonstrates service-oriented behaviors that include culturally sensitive good manners, respect, and polite communications. Demonstrates openness to creative and innovative approaches to providing service.
8. Schedule: alternative workweek 12 hours shifts. All regular hours worked will be paid at straight time rate, plus applicable differential.
