Seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist- Previous, palliative care experience

Seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist. We require previous, palliative care experience in areas that could include geriatrics, med/surg, oncology, critical care, family medicine, etc. Provide advanced practice nursing as part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of a chaplain, social worker and physicians. As a care team, round on patients and share the responsibility of new consults as well as ongoing patient care in hospital setting. If not already certified in palliative care, goal and expectation is to become certified within two years. Opportunity to participate in education and quality improvement in palliative care.

The Palliative care program was established in 2001 as part of the Fairview system-wide Palliative care program. The Palliative Care Program at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview is expanding its services to Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Join an outstanding team and share the responsibilities of Palliative care consults primarily at Fairview Southdale Hospital with possible rotation to other sites. We have an electronic medical record. This is a part-time position (.75) working day shift. Exact work days and work hours is somewhat flexible and yet to be determined. There is an opportunity for professional collaboration among the other advanced practice nurses in the Fairview Health Services system and within the Fairview Palliative Care Program, which is one of six Palliative Care Leadership Centers in the country, and provides education and technical assistance to new and expanding palliative care programs across the country. The program received the Circle of Life award in 2006. The Circle of Life Award celebrates programs across the nation that has made great strides in palliative and end-of-life care.

Currently, there is no call obligation.
