Seeking Pediatric Intensivist at the University of Tennessee
The University of Tennessee Department of Pediatrics and Le Bonheur Childrens Medical Center are seeking Pediatric Cardiac Intensivists to join their Cardiac Institute: Center of Excellence. The Cardiac Institute at Le Bonheur consists of 8 pediatric cardiologists, 1 pediatric intensivist, 2 cardiothoracic surgeons, 6 pediatric cardiology fellows, and a staff of cardiac nurses, nurse specialists and nurse practitioners. Immediate post-operative patients are cared for in a new 5-bed cardiovascular intensive care.
Research facilities include a Pediatric Clinical Research Center and a Childrens Foundation Research Center. Opportunities are also available for collaborative research through St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. On-going NIH funded studies on hypertension and myocarditis are in progress, and the facilities are equipped to study cardiomyocyte physiology and molecular cardiology.
