Program Analyst- Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at large urban healthcare facilities
The mission of the Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) antimicrobial stewardship program is to foster the judicious use of antimicrobial agents with the hopes of improving quality of patient care, clinical outcome, cost, educate staff, track and impact healthcare acquired pathogens such as antibiotic resistance and C. difficile colitis. The program is also engaging in multi-facility research initiatives relating to antimicrobial stewardship.
The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to set up surveillance systems to track and perform analysis of use of antimicrobials and outcomes related to such use at two large healthcare facilities (Montefiore Medical Center and Weiler Hospital). This individual will assist with interfacing and aggregating health related data from different existing databases. This individual is critical in ensuring that the day to day operational functions of the division´s antimicrobial stewardship program and related study protocols runs smoothly and efficiently.
The individual must have a Bachelors Degree (BA/BS in social/physical science/computer or related fields) and at least two years of experience with data collection and analysis in a research-related field and a Masters Degree in a health/research field (preferably a MPH with focus in biostatics, statistics, or informatics) . Experience with epidemiology or infectious diseases a plus. The Individual must have the ability to prioritize issues, think independently, and work in an evolving program. He or she must have strong computer and data analysis skills [minimum desired criteria- must be able to program in Excel and Access and some working knowledge of a statistics package (e.g., SAS, STAT, SPSS), SQL or other programming skills a plus] and verbal and written communication skills.
