We currently have an opportunity for a full time Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Coordinator to serve as the hospital ambassador for all surgical orthopedic patients, providing patient support from initial contact throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities will include scheduling and coordinating all necessary pre-operative testing appointments for patients, collaborating with the surgeon, nursing staff, case management and physician therapy to create a discharge class focusing on reinforcement of education and expectations after discharge, and collaborating with the quality improvement department to ensure that performance measures for the program are sustained in accordance with the goals for the program.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• Current Florida Registered Nurse License
• Graduate degree of an accredited school of nursing
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of three to five years experience in orthopedic nursing
